Gary has a First Class honours degree in Pure Mathematics (The University of St. Andrews) and an MSc in Environment, Culture & Society (The University of Edinburgh).
During his undergraduate degree he specialised in topics in the areas of Number Theory and Real Analysis. He brings a deep theoretical understanding of the topics he teaches but aims to deliver them in a light-hearted and accessible manner.
He believes that Mathematics is a skill which can be improved with (just a little!) practise!
Following a ten year career in the oil industry Gary now splits his time between teaching Maths and writing about the natural environment. His personal interests include hiking, yoga, and travel, and he is an keen reader of environmental philosophy.
